Greetings, my name is Whoopi! I’m a sweet and gentle girl who is friendly with everyone I meet. — The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is hosting its 2nd Annual Members’ Juried Art Show currently on display through the end of December. The exhibition was juried by Diane Milliken Garza, Ph.D. Executive Director, Brownsville Community Foundation Commissioner, Texas Commission on the Arts and features original artwork submitted by IMAS members. The work of 90 local member artists can be viewed now through December 31 in the Cardenas Gallery of the IMAS.
— Edinburg Rotary recently awarded The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley, Inc. a $5,000 donation. The donation was given in support of the Food Bank RGV’s Empty Bowls Luncheon and Silent Auction presented by H-E-B Hunger Relief.
I love both dogs and cats, but when it comes to “cool,” cats take the cake. Garfield, from the comic strip, is a perfect example. He’s a cool cat, laid back, while his bumbling dog companion, Odie, is lovable, but not the brightest bulb in the box. Okay, Snoopy is one cool dog, but he is a one-off, a one of a kind.
