PHARR- Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) senior Catherine DiGrazia has been selected as a Chancellor’s Scholar in Music, the most prestigious scholarship offered by the Texas Christian University School of Music for her post-secondary education this fall 2021.
Fernando, the great Kiskadee, wishes to fly away from the RGV due to personal problems and his stubbornness, but his friends Chispita, the Buffed Bellied Humming Bird, and Wanda, the North American Mocking Bird, together with dance and songs, try to convince him to stay and be positive. Along the way we discover more about these wonderful birds and their natural habitats. You will also meet a young Ornithologist, a Bird Watcher and Clarity the Fairy.
EDINBURG - In the decade of the 1960s the Edinburg Joe Davis Ginners dominated the Rio Grande Valley semipro baseball scene. It was an era when semipro baseball was still alive and well, with teams battling each other from within the four county areas and Mexico.
The City of Edinburg is excited to share that it is now one of five Texas cities, the only city south of Houston, to be certified as a ‘Better Cities for Pets‘ by the Mars Petcare ‘Better Cities for Pets’ program. The Better Cities for Pets certification represents Edinburg’s commitment to pet-friendliness. To receive this certification, the City met a variety of pet-friendliness requirements showing how we have, or are making, strides to become more welcoming to pets in our businesses, parks, shelters and homes.
