H.I.D.T.A. Commander Juan Sifuentes named National Association of Social Work 2020 Public Citizen of the Year
EDINBURG — Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez Jr. commended High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Commander Juan Sifuentes for being selected as the National Association of Social Work 2020 Public Citizen of the Year for the Texas Lower Rio Grande Valley branch. The Nomination & Leadership Identification Committee selected Commander Sifuentes for the regional award. He is also being considered for the state award.
DHR Health Transplant Institute celebrates 50th transplant milestone
EDINBURG –– Friday, June 12th, was a triumphant day for surgeons, Philip Thomas, MD and Jose Almeda, MD, at DHR Health Transplant Institute. The surgeons successfully performed the institute’s 50th kidney transplant surgery, reaching a milestone that had been anticipated by the DHR Health Transplant Institute since the program’s inception in 2016.
Fitness Court at Municipal Park under construction
EDINBURG — The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department is working on construction of the city’s first public outdoor fitness court. It’s a seven movement, seven-minute bodyweight fitness circuit. Residents can choose an exercise for each station and move from Station 1 through Station 7.
