The City of McAllen recently earned 82 multiple awards, as well as an international designation and a coveted industry award, at the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Insurance Pinnacle Awards and the IFEA World Festival & Event City Awards held during the 65th Annual International Festival & Events Association Annual Convention, Expo and Retreat, held last week right here in McAllen.

Quinta Mazatlan is kicking off Native Plant Month in Texas with Mike Heep on Thursday, October 6th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Heep’s presentation, “Landscaping with Native Plants”, will focus on a wide variety of the Rio Grande Valley’s native plants and information on how to diversify your garden with local specialties that help sustain the ecological and biodiversity of the region. A native plant sale is to follow the presentation, so bring a big empty car.
