EDINBURG - Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) has partnered with Finding Rover Inc., a free, online service that identifies Lost and Found cats and dogs in real-time using facial recognition technology of up to 98% accuracy accessible through their website (findingrover.com) and mobile app (Android & Apple).
On September 4th, 2020, 24 dogs and 32 cats came into our care. These lost pets were brought in by both Animal Control and the public from the jurisdictions we contract with. As a nonprofit with municipal contracts, we do not have jurisdiction to pick up animals ourselves. If you come across a distressed or injured animal, please call Animal Control immediately, or call us at (956) 329-0128 to make an appointment to drop off the animal yourself. The faster a distressed animal comes to us through Animal Control or the public, the better the recovery time for any injuries for that animal.
EDINBURG - Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated to honor Hispanic contributions to American heritage and culture. The observance was born in 1968 when Congress authorized the president to issue an annual proclamation designating National Hispanic Heritage Week. Two decades later, this became a month-long celebration, stretching from September 15 to October 15 in celebration of the anniversary of independence of the following Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Chile.
McALLEN — As the City of McAllen continues to move forward with the Bicentennial Boulevard road extension project, construction of the roadway intersection of Northgate Lane and Bicentennial Boulevard will cause a road closure along Northgate Lane.
