Peñitas ordinance aims to regulate hazardous traffic on city roads

SDue to an overabundance of safety concerns, and within its legal authority to act in the best interest of the welfare and safety of its residents, the City of Peñitas has approved an ordinance (Ordinance 2023-030) that regulates the operation of trucks, semi-trailers, or road tractors on city streets, alleys and public highways within the city limits.

This week’s column was going to be about state District Court Judge Joe Ramirez (the 464th) and how he ended up without opposition in next year’s Democrat Primary, and why local attorney Abiel Flores jumped ship to run for another court that will have no incumbent, even though initially he went around to local attorneys asking for money to run against Ramirez, but that can wait for next week.
