WESLACO – The good news keeps coming for Hidalgo County and those who have pushed for drainage and flood control projects to provide relief for communities hard-hit by recent and repeated extreme rain events.
EDINBURG – Businesses and other establishments in Hidalgo County will no longer have facial covering or capacity restrictions beginning at midnight Wednesday to comply with state orders to open up Texas, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said.
The City of McAllen’s Bicentennial Boulevard extension construction is still ongoing and a troubling trend is emerging that is cause for concern: McAllen residents are running and biking along the constructed road extension as contractors are working in the area. This is especially worrying to contractors who are operating heavy equipment and vehicles along the road. This is creating a potentially dangerous situation for anyone on-site other than authorized personnel.
PHARR — The recent winter storm caused many area families to lose food due to the power outages. Vanguard Academy understands the hardship this may have caused and in collaboration with The Food Bank RGV and H-E-B, hosted a food distribution drive-thru at Rembrandt Elementary campus, 1200 E. Kelly in Pharr last Friday, March 12th from 7 to 11 a.m.
