MISSION - The National Butterfly Center is calling all citizen scientists to assist with a native plant survey across one dozen South Texas counties, in search of two species of succulent, Texas Tuberose (Manfreda maculosa) and Longflower Tuberose (Manfreda longiflora). These two plant species are limited in both range and in numbers. As a result, the butterfly that depends upon it as host, the Manfreda Giant Skipper (Stallingsia maculosus), has practically disappeared from the landscape.

The Texas Department of Transportation is advising motorists of possible traffic interruptions and delays as the IH-2/U.S. 83 westbound SS 115/23rd St. exit ramp and westbound frontage road from the IH-2/U.S. 83 westbound SS 115/23rd St. exit to SS 115/23rd St. Has been closed since Friday, January 8, 2021 and will continue through Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Do you know that out in desert areas, there are people who have seen plenty of UFOs. Granted, they’re usually high on peyote at the time, but who really knows if space aliens exist? They could. In fact, some may be walking among us at this very minute, pretending to be human, which would explain why they don’t act human.
