As a kid, I grew up loving Snoopy. A dog with attitude and a disdain for authority, what was there not to love? Then there was the whole Peanuts gang, from poor Charlie Brown and the football that Lucy kept pulling out from under him, to Linus holding on to his blanket while walking around spouting philosophy, to Schroeder playing jazz on his piano, to Pig Pen, Peppermint Patty, Woodstock, et al. Charles Schulz, RIP, pure genius at understanding kids in particular, and the human condition in general.

McAllen Municipal Court amnesty extended until September 30, 2020

McALLEN — Violators of traffic laws who failed to show up for their day in court will now have to make arrangements to take care of their tickets without fear of being arrested or any additional fines. The City of McAllen’s Municipal Court Failure to Appear Amnesty Program has been extended to September 30, 2020. This year, the amnesty is being extended due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and the need to stay at home.

CBP Officers Intercept Body Carrier and Seize $134K in Methamphetamine

BROWNSVILLE — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge intercepted a load of alleged methamphetamine. CBP officers discovered the narcotics, valued at approximately $134,921, hidden under the clothing of a man attempting entry into the United States.
