The Cost of Fear

Fear is killing Ukrainians. Not Ukrainian fear, which would be understandable. I’m talking about Polish and American fear. Poland wants to supply Mig 29s to Zelenskyy but is afraid to do so directly because that will make the Russians mad. So they want to give them to Biden so Biden can transfer them to Zelenskyy. Biden, however, is afraid to do any such transfer because it would somehow draw the United States into war with Russia. So Russian bombers continue killing Ukrainians.

Possible suicide prevented

I can’t remember who sent the following anecdote to The Advance so many years ago, or if it’s even true, but I came across it while rummaging through old word.doc files the other day on my trusty iMac (2013 model), and I thought, given today’s human climate (anxious, angry, worried, stressed), it might be a good time to re-publish it, given the fact that so many people, especially kids, are on edge.

Armageddon?

He’s baaack. Televangelist Pat Robertson, that is, scaring the bejeesus out of me with his recent talk of Armageddon. He’s now saying (as of March 1) that “Vlad the Bad” Putin was “compelled by God” to invade Ukraine. Meaning, presumably based on Robertson’s knowledge of the mind of God — the End Times are near.
