I don’t know what it is about some people, but personally, I’ve never had a problem apologizing. Even when I know I’m not in the wrong, if someone feels offended, I’ll usually say, “Sorry you feel that way.”
The conflict in Ukraine is unique in that Russia has misstated the reason for invading as well as the nature of the people they are attacking. Putin also has been careful not to show the folks at home the extent of the carnage he has produced. Video news footage has been replete with pictures of attack helicopters not attacking (as cameras focus on the sky above rather than on the explosions down below. Ukraine, on the other hand, is bent on informing the Russian people as to what is really going on. This has produced a war with an unusual emphasis on propaganda as well as news.
Now that U.S. Representative Filemon Vela has officially resigned from his U.S. congressional seat as of last Thursday, Gov. Greg Abbott has the power to set a special election date ... (oh, boy, more political signs) … or not.
