Registration form shortage as deadline looms

Less than a week remains before the Jan. 31 deadline to register to vote in the March 1 primary. While Secretary of State John Scott publicly assured Texas voters that “every single eligible Texas voter will be able to register to vote if they have not done so already,” the League of Women Voters on Friday threatened to sue his office if the nonpartisan group isn’t provided with additional voter registration forms.

The Unending Battle

Last week, reporter John Solomon gave an extensive interview in which he predicted that two states were close to decertifying their presidential election results, while two others were also likely to take the plunge. According to him, Arizona and Georgia were likely candidates with Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on the brink. He added that at least one urban county in these states was guilty of many infractions it would be prevented from running its future elections. The state itself would take over that function.

How much time do we have left? Enjoy life while you can

So how many years do I have left before I kick the bucket? That’s what I want to know. Ten? Twenty? Thirty? How many more games of pool do I have left before I can no longer hold a cue stick or even drive myself to the pool hall? How many more years before I’m trading my iced tea in for a glass of prune juice, waiting for the nurse’s aid to come and adjust my catheter?
