Texas Suit Rejected

The Texas Attorney General has sued Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin before the U.S. Supreme Court for holding an unconstitutional presidential election. What’s more, he may be right insofar as the facts are concerned. Six other states have joined with him in the suit, and 18 states (including those six) have submitted friend of the court briefs backing Texas. A bunch of Democrat states have also stepped in supporting the four states being sued (but not taking part in the suit). The Democrats have claimed that the suit by Texas is a mere publicity stunt without any merit whatsoever.

Budget Challenges for the 2021 Legislative Session

Soon, lawmakers from across the state will begin a new legislative session. This session will be unlike any we have ever seen and require a bipartisan effort to enact sound policies that will help all Texans deal with and ultimately defeat COVID-19. Like many Texans facing difficult budget decisions at home, the state will be facing a significant challenge in balancing the budget without sacrificing the important services and investments provided by the state.

It was the best of times

Probably every generation thinks the same, but I really do think I grew up in the best of times – 1955 to when I stumbled into my 18 year in 1973. Besides the sad assassinations, the Viet Nam conflict, Kent State, racial unrest, and other events that were anything but pleasant, that time period for most people on a personal level were great times.
