What President?

Last week, Joe Biden made an extremely unusual statement. He said that if his vice president held a policy position different from his on a matter in which there was an ethical difference between their views, he would fake an illness and resign. Now what does that say about whether Biden intends to ever be a real president? It appears that Willie Brown’s former mistress is in the driver’s seat and Biden will never be anything above vice president. It is, of course, the underling who would resign in such a situation.

What kind of God is this?

I’m writing this during Thanksgiving week, that fuzzy period between the last Sunday of the Christian Church year and the first Sunday of the new year a week later, which also marked the beginning of Advent (leading to Christmas Day). In the spirit of the season, I’m reminded how succinctly the Lord explains Advent through the Gospel author Luke:

Loving the Unlovable (Part I of II)

I remember when U.S. News & World Report conducted a survey about heaven. The survey discovered that 87% of Americans believe they, themselves, are likely to go to heaven. Only 79% believed Mother Teresa went to heaven. Sixty percent believed Princess Di did, while only 52% believed Bill Clinton would go to heaven.
