Going home late one afternoon, I came to a stop behind a car and noticed something strange yet sadly true. On one side of the car was the Christian fish insignia and on the other side a bumper sticker that read, “It’s All About ME.” Unfortunately, this is all too frequent a way of life for far too many Christians. Jesus was consistently concerned about self-centeredness in the Gospel of Luke, especially among the religious elites of His day and among His disciples. It seems as if Jesus over and over reminds these groups that “the first will be last and the last will be first.”
