UTRGV gains $6 million grant for cancer research

A $6 million state grant for a research program that will focus on liver cancer among Hispanics/ Latinos in the Rio Grande Valley “is just a drop in the bucket – there will be more (research money) coming,” says Pharr Mayor Dr. Ambrosio Hernández, who serves as a member of the Oversight Committee, Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).
