On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley received an early birthday gift from the Texas Legislature, which passed resolutions honoring the university’s upcoming 10th anniversary of its creation.
Special to the Advance HIDALGO — Precinct 2 Hidalgo County Commissioner Eduardo “Eddie” Cantu is raising awareness about a concert being put on by the City of Hidalgo and radio hosts Alfredo Garcia and Cesar Garza involving several Rio Grande Valley musicians to provide relief for those impacted by the recent flooding in South Texas.
HUB City Toastmasters meets each Wednesday at the Pharr Memorial Library, 121 E. Cherokee, second floor, from noon until 1 p.m. Visitors are welcome.
