McAllen Public Library receives the 2022 Achievement of Library Excellence Award for ninth year in a row

McALLEN — McAllen Public Library has received the 2022 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Director’s Association (TMLDA) for the ninth year in a row. Each year TMLDA confers awards for outstanding contributions to public libraries.

On Thursday, April 20th, 2023 the Friends of Quinta Mazatlan will host Moon over Mazatlan, Noche De Flamenco, at the urban sanctuary in McAllen. The evening celebrates its 17th anniversary and works to raise funds for the Center for Urban Ecology at Quinta Mazatlan.

Call me an animal sucker, which is probably why I prefer most dogs and cats over most people. Okay, call it evenly split. Wife feels the same way, which is probably why we ended up with five dogs all at once for many years, all found without a home. Sadly, they’re all gone, leaving me with my pet rock. Easy to care for, cheap to feed, but lacking any emotion.
