PSJA “BEARS” of 1957 to continue reunions during 2020

Diminishing members of the PSJA Bears Class of 1957 will continue monthly reunions during 2020, alternating between breakfast and dinner, on the second Saturday of every month. The Dwindling "Bears of 1957" classmates encourage schoolmates from other 1950s Bear classes to join them in reliving memories of their high school legacies when they were young, and "The World Was Our Oyster" The Future Limitless.

What a maggot brings to the table

This is one of those nature columns that even kind of grosses me out, so stand warned. I mean, after all, it’s not easy reading up on maggots. Mainly, because they’re such disgusting, slimy little creatures. Why else is it considered such an insult to say to someone: “You’re nothing but a little maggot?”

Monica’s Angels Releases Special Edition Cristina Love & Light Bracelet for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On October 1, Monica’s Angels released a Special Edition Cristina love & light bracelet for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The organization originally formed in 1998 to help McAllen Memorial High School senior Monica Montanaro and her family while Monica was being treated for osteosarcoma, In May of 2000, at the age of 19, Monica succumbed to the disease. For several years following her passing, McAllen jewelry designer Rosemary Trevino continued to design an annual “Monica” angel pin. Profits from the pin’s sale were used to help other families in the Rio Grande Valley whose children were undergoing treatment for cancer. This was done to fulfill Monica’s wish.
